music class for children with autism

09.27.2012 By: Eliza, MiniBury Founder

We just stumbled across a sign for a new class in town that we couldn’t resist sharing. Please spread the love and pass this along to other families.

The Sapphire Center, located in New Haven, will be hosting an after school music class for children with autism and their siblings aged 3 – 8 years old.  Led by Dr. Maxine Fidler, the sessions encourage joyous exploration of sound and rhythm. Parents are encouraged to participate and drop ins are welcome.

Wednesdays, September 26 – October 17
3:30 – 4:30 pm
$10 per class/child
Maxine Fidler, ND, LAc is Naturopathic physician and acupuncturist in Middlebury, Vermont. She has enjoyed teaching and facilitating music for children and adults on the autism spectrum, as well as their neurotypical peers. Her undergraduate degree is in music, and she has spent 13 years as a music educator. She believes that engaging in music is a healing experience in its own right, and one that promotes togetherness and fun.

Eliza, MiniBury Founder

Hello, I’m Eliza. I founded MiniBury in 2012 because I had a hunch that I wasn't the only parent in Addison County missing fun family friendly events. I love the challenge of finding and sharing information about our community to other parents.
