Looking for a super easy, delicious recipe? Look no further than this Granola. This recipe came from our family and is too good not to share. Our favorite part (other than the yummy product), it’s in the oven in under 10 minutes and is really fun to make with kids.
Combine the following in a large bowl:
- 2 c oats
- 1/2 c wheat germ (or flax meal)
- 2 tbsp dark brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 c nuts (we like almonds & pecans, but any nuts taste good)*
Heat and mix the following over medium heat until just combined:
- 1 tbsp water
- 3 tbsp oil (we like coconut or olive oil, but use what you have)
- 1/4 c maple syrup or honey (or combine the two)
Pour mixture over dry ingredients and mix well.
Spread evenly on a cookie sheet and bake for 45 minutes @ 275°
*The beauty of this recipe is you can really add anything you like! We like to add shredded unsweetened coconut and chia seeds too. If you like dried fruit, be sure to add it after cooking, otherwise it will burn.
